The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:
- Managing PICK programmers, including delegating tasks, supervising, training, and conducting performance evaluations;
- Consistently writing, translating, and coding software programs and applications according to specifications;
- Running and monitoring software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging;
- Assisting with preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications;
- Installing software programs for end users;
- Participating in the on-call rotation as both primary and secondary roles responsible for mitigation of systemic failures;
- Recommending and performing software improvements and upgrades
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in the computer science field or 5 years equivalent work experience;
- Working knowledge of programming languages, including PICK Basic, PICK Pro, Windows, and AccuTerm;
- Solid working knowledge of medical and insurance application;
- Working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including HTML and XML, a plus;
- Hands-on software troubleshooting experience;
- Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies;
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to build relationships with employees in order to keep them inspired and productive;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products;
- Highly logical, self-motivated, and directed;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
