The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Answering Helpdesk calls concerning troubleshooting, analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration, answering questions, providing technical solutions, and training;
- Maintaining, repairing, and installing all hardware;
- Being on-call in the evenings and on weekends;
- Supporting and maintaining in-house computer systems, desktops, laptops, and peripherals;
- Working with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels;
- Performing on-site installations of hardware, equipment contracts, and supervising contract-based installations;
- Ensuring network connectivity of all workstations;
- Providing guidance to junior members of the team as required;
- Performing on-site repair of computer systems and peripherals as needed.
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Must be 18 years of age or older a high school graduate or equivalent;
- Must be able to lift moderately heavy to heavy items (10 -100 lbs);
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and highly self-motivated;
- Working technical knowledge of desktop operating systems including Windows 95/98, NT, Windows 2000, 2003, XP Home, XP Professional, and Windows Vista;
- Ability to conduct research into software and hardware related issues and products;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards;
- At least three years basic networking skills, such as TCP/IP and basic routing;
- At least three years working knowledge of operating systems and Microsoft Office products;
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time (possibly 4-7 hours at a time).
