Care Advisor Nurse-RN Team Lead

Patient First Hanover, MD (Onsite) Full-Time

Sign-on Bonus!

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Acting as a resource for Care Advisor Nurses; ensuring timely resolution for callers’ inquiries and concerns;
  • Monitoring and reviewing telephone triage calls and providing ongoing verbal and written feedback to staff; identifying, preparing, and maintaining documentation to ensure appropriate job performance by staff and the department;
  • Ensuring staff adhere to work schedules in order to meet established call benchmarks;
  • Conducting annual performance evaluations with staff;
  • Maintaining documentation of current licensure and credentialing of mandatory training (e.g., ACLS, CPR, Code Drill, etc.);
  • Assisting with interviewing, orientating, and developing staff;
  • Assisting with Telehealth, patient portal messages, and after-hour calls as needed;
  • Drafting memos, notices, or emails as needed to facilitate ongoing departmental communication;
  • Meeting regularly with the Care Advisor Nurse Supervisor;
  • Ensuring that staff comply with HIPAA regulations and all Patient First policies and procedures;
  • Ensuring that documentation completed by staff in patients’ medical records is complete, concise, comprehensive, and understandable;
  • Completing other duties as assigned;
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality;
  • Demonstrating ability to multi-task and work effectively and independently;
  • Demonstrating ability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:   

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age;
  • Must be a registered nurse;
  • Eligible to be licensed in all states in which Patient First operates;
  • Employment with Patient First in a clinical capacity for a minimum of 2 years preferred;
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in medical/surgical, urgent care, emergency, or critical care nursing preferred;
  • Previous experience in a nurse telephone triage call center preferred;
  • Strong professional clinical nursing knowledge;
  • Exceptional listening, problem solving, and critical thinking skills;
  • Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Ability to use automated call distributor telecommunication systems;
  • Ability to sit or stand for an extended period of time (possibly 4 to 8 hours at a time);
  • Occasional travel required;
  • Ability to manage a team-oriented environment.

Maryland Applicants Only:

Salary Range: $81,000 - $91,000, depending on experience.
